About Us
We started our alpaca business four years ago here in Loveland, Colorado, and we have been enjoying our peaceful life with alpacas every day. We love alpacas so much that we want to share a happy and peaceful life with others who are interested in alpacas.
We named our ranch "Green Dog Alpaca Ranch," which came to us naturally through what had happened to our white Great Pyrenees. This mellowed and tamed Great Pyrenees male came to our ranch with the very first alpaca we purchased. Having an alpaca with a dog for the first night, we closed the stall door and kept them together over the night. The Great Pyrenees happened to decide to sleep in the manger, which might have prevented the alpaca from eating his hay. In attempts to keep the dog out of the manger, the alpaca seemed like spitting at the dog all night. When the first morning arrived, we anxiously went to the barn to check about them. We were shocked with what we saw then. The white Great Pyrenees WERE all Green. Thus came our ranch name.
Green Dog Alpaca Ranch, doing business as Green Dog Enterprises （ＧＤＥ） はコロラド州ロッキー山脈のふもと海抜５０００フィートの高地に位置し、南アメリカ以外の地でアルパカを飼育するには最も適した環境にあると言えるでしょう。
ＧＤＥは２００２年末に動物と自然を愛するMark & Norikoにより設立され、以後日本からの投資家・動物愛好家たちに励まされながら、２００7年には40頭のアルパカを保有するに至っています。
